Scrapfest with Jan

Well, I'm on the tail end of a 5 day Scrapfest with Jan. I have completed 18 12x12 layouts. Not as many as I wanted to complete but not bad considering we went shopping and exercised every day. I'll publish some pictures later.

Beauty gets BUSTED!

Here is a layout I did at Jan's house. I added the journaling after I took the picture. Chloe got into my fingernail polish in my bathroom while I was sleeping and painted her toes, yes her TOES! She got it on the floor and carpet so I made her clean it up! I used my new Storybook Cricut cartridge on the letters "Beauty" and the pink swirly.

My Princess and Prince

I cut out some crowns from my new Storybook cartridge for the kids to color and I could scrapbook at the same time. They had a great time coloring them and didn't want to take them off for bed!

What a Whopper!

Ed went fishing yesterday (while I played basketball and Noah got hurt). He caught this monster of a bass! He guessed that it weighed near 7 pounds! This is his biggest bass ever...so you know it will have to go in the scrapbook.

Noah's Fall...

at church resulted in an extremely nasty head wound. We heard him crying from across the room and Tim ran across the gym, which made me realized Noah was seriously hurt. All I saw was blood all over his eye socket and running down his face and onto his shirt. Thank goodness his Uncle Tim was there! He squeezed the gash closed and sent me for a wet cloth to wipe him off. We dashed off (which quickly ended our basketball game) and headed to Tim's shop for some closure strips (or something like that). Then we went next door to Grandma's house while Grandma and Uncle Tim doctored him up. He looks pretty good considering the size of that gash. Now my poor boy will have an ugly scar in his forehead. :( But at least he didn't lose an eye!

Precious

I got my new Storybook Cricut cartridge today and I am super excited. So I quickly created this page using it. I cut the "P" at 2" and "recious" at .8". The bottom pick scallop thingy is from hitting shift "I" on blackout.

I also completed this for **Snoflak**'s challenge to follow a sketch and I used pinks.

I'm off....

to a crop today with one of the girls from church....I can't wait!!! I will post some creations when I get back.

Love that pout

Here is a page I copied from the CK magazine August 08 on page 110. This is Noah on Jan. 8, 2008. He was pouting about something....don't remember now what it was.

Why

I had a little bit of time before going to a BBQ today so I ran up to the scrap room and created this really quickly.

Jan's challenge:

use notebook paper, ledger paper or graph paper

use chipboard letters

use tags

use photos randomly pulled from my stack

I used Heidi Swapp chipboard letters, Fiskars threading water punch (on a piece of scrap paper that had some stamping on it....looks cool!) and the Basic Grey Blush line.

New Pool!

We got a new pool last night; one of those blue ones with the ring of air at the top. It is 18 feet in diameter and will be 41"deep. This is for the kids for Christmas and birthday! LOL! Ok, so Ed and I might enjoy it too. Ed is out in the backyard now with the excavator leveling out the land. Will post pics later of the pool.

Back to Scrappin' Again!

After a week in a tent and going canoeing, kayaking, and many other adventures, I made it home last night. I missed all my scrap stuff! I put all of my camping stuff away this morning and proceeded directly to my scrap room. This is a page I created for our 2008 book. Jan's challenge on this page was to use 3 different stamps from the MM dingbat set and 2 different colors of paint. (They are in the bottom right corner and don't show up well in the photo.) The paper is from the Basic Grey Blush line. The heart stickers and scallop are from BG 2 Scoops line. I also finally used my Cuttlebug Floral Fantasy folder (on the bottom photo corner)! I love those embossing folders!

Jan and I have discovered a fun, fast way to scrap. We give each other challenges to complete. It sure makes scrappin' easier because you are limited in what you can use. For this challenge, she told me to copy the front cover of the June issue of Creating Keepsakes. This is the page I copied (a.k.a. scraplifted!). TFL!
